Pencil graphite on paper

Trilogy Of Souls 2

The Trilogy of Souls, all started with a simple unicorn drawing on A1 size paper.
I used to have these amazing dreams which were in black and white, the dreams carried on as the drawings started, first was the unicorn in trilogy of souls 1, the rest of the creatures all drawn from memory took time to get right, some 3 years in total, on and off, then 3 solid months each to piece together, not one piece of visual related imagery was used during the making of them to refer to, just jumbled visions from memory, constantly re-drawn until right.
A full range of Derwent Graphite pencils were used including a few H's I went through so many pencils constantly sharpening that I lost count of how many I used.
Both Trilogies when placed together join each other making one picture, though the third Trilogy as yet to be started.
As you can probably imagine these do take so long to complete that it may be some time before the third one is ready to join them.
Thank you and please comment on them, thank you, Mike.

Sorry I said no visual imagery was used, I did however use myself or rather my eyes, within the mask (center), so I'm actually inside my avatar, cheers, Mike.

Hi there, thank you very much, I like your work too, especially the skull world drawing, I noticed you have a lot of skills in this field yourself, you do tend to draw the very awkward subjects, which are extremely hard to get used to, I think you did a very nice job of the werewolf really liked those, animals are very hard to get right especially if they have fur, which most have, so I would love to see some other type of drawing from you, all the very best, thank you, cheers, Mike.

Thank you very much, I wanted to create something completely from vague dream memories, first was the unicorn, then came this one, but I have a full epic story that goes with these pictures, just got to write it all, I have completed the first 4 chapters, if you ever get bored maybe you might enjoy reading them, thank you and all the best, cheers, Mike.

I can't help but keep coming back to this. Not only is it spectacular from a technical point of view, there's just something about it that I find quite enchanting. I have some pretty intense dreams myself and if I could represent them like this then I would be very, very happy indeed.

Hi there, thank you very much, my camera as broken down at the moment as I was trying to take better pictures of this to upload, but, I have no special gifts really, just a lot of patience, though I used to do relaxation exercises during the time I created this, thank you very much, all the best, cheers, Mike.

Stunning piece - the amount of details are absolutely mind-blowing. I love the concept of drawing "out of your own head," it must be amazing to be able to remember so much of your dreams.

oh Mike, you're killing me. This one is even better than your other one and the last one was FLABBERGASTING!
I have no idea where you find the time to do this or how you're able to pull out memories or pictures from your head and draw them so flawlessly. I once tried to do that but I couldn't get the image to stay long enough so I could draw it.
You're absolutely brilliant. :D
Congratulation. I can't wait to see the last part. :D

Thanks Chrisy, some of my characters have been re-drawn between 4 and 12 times, each one better than the last, but its surprising how well they develop on their own each time getting better, I still don't reckon I'm anywhere near some of the greats on graphite here, they are mindblowing, check out dynpop, a master artist, thanks a lot for your overwhelming comments, cheers, Mike.
